In case you didn't know, 'solstice' is from the Latin for 'sun stands still'. At the time of summer solstice, about June 22, the sun is directly overhead at noon at the Tropic of Cancer. For several days before and after each solstice, the sun appears to stand still in the sky. Its noontime elevation doesn't seem to change from day to day.
Sol, sun; sistit, stands.
So much for the basic science of the moment and the etymology of the word...but this is the kind of thing I feel Liam looks like he might be contemplating in this picture:

If you've spent any time at all around babies, you've probably experienced those moments where they can get a look on their face which seems to reach beyond their experience. Could be a musingly thoughtful look...could just be that they're doing their best to imitate an expression on a face they've seen looking back at them.
Morgan has lovely-coloured eyes. A beautiful blue with a lighter ring of blue near her pupil which seems to actually emit light from behind it. It's a little more difficult to see in this shot, but again it's more the expression on her face here that captures me in this photograph:

(ed. of course, when I say 'captures', I mean 'captivates')
Everyone says, "Oh, they'll change colour." We know their eyes could change up until they reach about two years old. We just hope they don't.
These shots, by the way, were taken by (Moster) Lene, and like I said - to me - they seem to capture something in their faces beyond their six and a half months of existence.
...and I think you probably already figured out - they are my sunshine.
The Tinks were out socializing on Tuesday, so I'll have some pictures from that shindig as soon as there's time to download them.
Happy Summer!
