Long Time, No Post...

It isn't getting any less busy around here, with our house on the market now, and the twins requiring their usual amount (read: lots) of attention. It's difficult to always look like you're living in a museum - which is what people expect when you 'show' them your home for sale - when you have a pair of close-to-8-month-old pooping machines, but you do what you have to to make the sinks and garbage containers look like they're never used. It's kinda silly, really, because we LIVE HERE, dammit, but trying to create that non-lived-in illusion is key, we're told, so we do what we can. For both of us, the babies come first, and people will just have to understand that. If some prospective buyers who just happen to also be baby-haters come through and don't buy because of it, well...we'll just have to live with that.

Speaking of babies, The Tinks (trademark still not registered, don't tell anybody) have a new toy to share. It's an "Exersaucer" (I'm sure any parent who read that wondered why I put it in quotations. I did it for the uninitiated, of course) that does all kinds of neat things. It has a turntable, a microphone, a mirror ball, and either plays little bits of disco hits (including a baby-ized version of 'Funkytown', which sounds kinda funny), or 'learning songs', like the A-B-C song, which seems to be Liam's favourite. To me, its amusement is found in the fact that it's the Canadian version of the ditty, with the singer pronouncing the letter 'zed' at the end of the tune, making it a little clunky, but at least accurate.

Liam, considering his Dad's current profession, made us laugh with what captured his almost constant attention on his first day of 'Exersaucering',
as pictured here:

Morgan, on the other hand, was a turntable kind of girl right away:

For whatever reason, this reminded me of a quote from singer/lead guitarist Billy Gibbons of ZZTop, when he was asked if anyone else in his family was musical.

He replied, "Well, my little sister plays the radio a lot."
