Getting up for work at 3am is just
stupid. I mean, honest to God, who could
possibly enjoy doing this on a regular basis? Okay, you got me.
I do. I've done morning radio more than any other shift in my 20-some-odd years in it, and I love watching the sun come up while I'm working. Call me crazy. Speaking of crazy, I tiptoed downstairs (because I don't want to wake the babies at that time of day, with Janne then stuck dealing with them on her own as I drive off to work - not good for husband/wife relations) and into the kitchen on Monday morning about 3:30am, flipped on the kitchen light, and was met by
this:

It caught me off guard to such a degree, I had to take a picture of it.
I mean, LOOK at them.
They were
all staring at me. Sure, my wife washes the toys regularly, and sets them out on a dishtowel to dry. I've seen it before - but I wasn't expecting to come downstairs in the middle of the night to the menagerie staring up at me from the countertop, waiting to say good morning. Thought I'd share the moment with you.
